Job description

The engineering team is focused on creating next-generation touch interfaces for Apple products, including iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch. They are seeking a signal processing and machine learning engineer with strong C/C++ skills to contribute to innovative projects. The role involves productizing algorithmic solutions and ensuring seamless integration of hardware, software, and user interfaces. The engineer will analyze hardware issues, modify algorithms for new form factors, and design user-facing features.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong coding skills in C/C++.
  • Experience with mathematical, scripting, and modeling languages such as Python or Matlab.
  • Solid understanding of signal processing, linear algebra, statistics, and adaptive filters.
  • Familiarity with machine learning models and frameworks.
  • Experience in user studies and data analysis.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field is required; a PhD is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze hardware issues for user impact and potential mitigations.
  • Modify and tune current algorithms for new form factors.
  • Design and implement new user-facing features.
  • Provide critical support during the production phase.
  • Investigate new technologies and prototype concepts.
  • Evaluate user impact and deliver products.
  • Handle large data processing on the cloud.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
