Job description
This role is for an experienced software engineer focused on building JVM-based libraries that support Apple's services. The team is dedicated to delivering high-performance, reliable libraries while enabling partners through guidance and mentorship. Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in understanding concurrency and multi-threaded concepts
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- General knowledge about Garbage Collection and its impacts on library/application development
- Experience in Traffic/Edge Engineering or Cloud Networking
- Proficient with networking and inter-process communication
- Experience with async RPC libraries such as Netty, ServiceTalk, Finagle, VertX, Spring Reactor, gRPC Java, etc.
- Deep knowledge of Java Memory Model
- Understanding of popular networking protocols such as HTTP/1.x, HTTP/2, and HTTP/3 is desirable

- Contribute to and build JVM-based libraries that enable services at Apple's scale
- Make informed technology choices within complex architectures
- Coach and mentor teammates, considering their unique skills and backgrounds
- Provide technical guidance and constructive feedback to foster team growth
- Navigate ambiguity and concentrate on broader objectives and desired impact
- Collaborate with application and library developers to write more friendly code for the JVM/JDK
