In this role, you will be part of the SOC Silicon Validation team, focusing on system-level validation and developing software to validate high-speed IO IP blocks. You will work closely with various teams including SiVal, FW, Architecture, and Design. The position involves defining validation plans, bringing up systems, debugging SOC issues, and coordinating test runs. This is an opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation processors and systems-on-chip for Apple products.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of relevant industry experience in silicon validation software engineering or a related field is necessary.
  • Experience with embedded systems is required.
  • Familiarity with SoC and system architecture is essential.
  • Knowledge and experience working with board schematics is needed.
  • Experience using test equipment and analyzers such as USB, PCIe, DP, and I2C is required.
  • High knowledge and experience with high-speed interfaces like USB-PD, USB2.0, USB3.0, Thunderbolt 3, USB4.0, PCIe, or DP is required.
  • Proven experience in silicon bring-up, debugging, validation, and characterization is necessary.
  • In-depth understanding of PHY design, architecture, adaptations, and equalization techniques is required.
  • Strong hands-on software programming skills with a focus on embedded systems, with proficiency in C programming, is essential.
  • Skilled in scripting, preferably in Python, to automate testing and data analysis is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software to validate high-speed IO IP blocks.
  • Define validation plans and coordinate to run tests.
  • Bring up and debug SOC issues.
  • Collaborate closely with SiVal, FW, Architecture, and Design teams.
  • Ensure high quality functional products are delivered quickly.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
