Job description

The Home Screen team is seeking a proactive and skilled UI engineer to enhance user experiences for millions globally. This team is responsible for key system experiences on Apple devices, including the Home Screen and Control Center. The role involves prototyping new user interfaces, implementing features, and improving performance. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential as the team works cross-functionally with various engineering and design groups.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of experience developing apps with UIKit and/or SwiftUI
  • Experience architecting and implementing reusable public or private APIs
  • Knowledge of operating systems programming
  • Excellent understanding of optimization and performance issues across OS software layers
  • Understanding of inter-process communication and systems development

Responsibilities

  • Prototype new user interface paradigms and implement new features
  • Define APIs and fix bugs
  • Improve performance of existing components
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams including engineers and designers
