Job description

The role involves leading the characterization of wireless software performance in labs and beyond, focusing on cellular and satellite communication technologies. The engineer will collaborate across departments to enhance customer experience with Apple products and services. This position requires a strong understanding of cellular standards and hands-on experience with satellite systems. The goal is to drive new initiatives and propose technology improvements in a data-driven manner.

Requirements

  • Eight years of experience working in a laboratory environment, testing and benchmarking data, voice, and application performance of cellular and satellite systems.
  • Deep understanding of cellular 3GPP standards relating to 5G NR and LTE.
  • Hands-on experience with satellite networks or satellite communication systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Python scripting to automate performance test suites.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive characterization of wireless software performance in labs.
  • Develop expertise in cellular and satellite communication systems.
  • Act as a liaison between technology and product engineering teams.
  • Propose software optimizations and improvements based on performance data.
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering groups to evangelize wireless communication technologies.
