Job description

The Media-IP SoC Performance Engineer role at Apple involves collaborating with engineers to design and optimize the architecture of multi-media IPs that are crucial for Apple's SoCs. Requirements

  • B.S. degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in computer architecture and software engineering.
  • Experience in C++ object-oriented software development.
  • MS/PhD with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of SoC architectures including fabrics, memory systems, QoS, arbitration, and queuing theory.
  • Experience with performance model development and analysis, including data analytics, statistics, and applied machine learning.
  • Expertise in C++ including latest STL libraries.
  • Proficiency in Python, Lua, and shell scripting languages.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define the architecture of new features.
  • Optimize trade-offs between performance, power, and area for Media-IPs.
  • Develop and analyze performance models using various data sources.
  • Provide data-driven performance architectural insights to enhance customer experience.
