Job description

Apple is seeking a talented engineer to join the Sensing Product Design Architecture team, focusing on the mechanical design and performance of sensing modules. As a senior member, you will leverage advanced analytical methods to develop robust design solutions for innovative features. The role emphasizes collaboration with a multifunctional team to generate design concepts and assess performance impacts. You will play a key role in defining the foundational performance of products used by millions worldwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Deep understanding of advanced mechanical engineering principles including solid mechanics, materials science, and heat transfer.
  • Proven experience with data-driven design using statistical analysis methods such as Monte Carlo and Design of Experiments.
  • Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software such as Siemens NX, SolidWorks, or Creo.
  • Demonstrated mastery in advanced computational mechanics, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
  • Expertise in analytical programming languages such as Python or Matlab.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural mechanical analysis and performance modeling of advanced sensing modules.
  • Focus on robustness across diverse operating conditions and manufacturing variations.
  • Leverage expertise in finite element analysis, closed-form analytical solutions, and tolerance analysis.
  • Generate design concepts and quantify performance impacts through complex analytical models.
  • Develop and deploy scalable analytical tools or web applications to support engineering teams.
  • Communicate complex technical findings effectively to diverse audiences and contribute to technical leadership.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
