Job description

The Apple Advanced Technologies Group is seeking a motivated electrical engineer to design next generation touch sensors. This role focuses on enabling world-class user experiences through high-precision, low-latency multi-touch and stylus sensors. The engineer will tackle complex multi-disciplinary problems in areas such as circuit analysis, electro-magnetics, and algorithm development. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to deliver effective sensor module solutions.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is required.
  • Strong analog, mixed-signal, and electro-magnetic fundamentals are necessary.
  • Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools such as FEA (Comsol, ANSYS, Maxwell), MATLAB, Python, or SPICE is required.
  • Hands-on experience with system-level design is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Solid teamwork and leadership skills are required.
  • A Ph.D. or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own the design and implementation of touch sensors.
  • Build models to understand key tradeoffs in sensor design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver sensor module solutions.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
