Job description

The Structural Engineering Professional Associate will be a key member of the design team, focusing on structural analysis and design for advanced manufacturing projects. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills as the associate will collaborate closely with Structural Leads and other engineers. The position emphasizes a solid foundation in Structural Engineering principles and the ability to integrate design with other disciplines. The associate will have opportunities for career growth based on their motivation and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
  • Professional Engineer License (PE or PEng)
  • At least 4 years of Structural Engineering experience
  • Experience with US building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC
  • Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam
  • Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design under general supervision.
  • Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation and selection of engineering techniques.
  • Exhibit a high level of attention to detail and quality control by checking own work and peers' work.
  • Manage workload effectively, making and keeping commitments while taking ownership of assigned work.
  • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship to designers and less experienced engineers.
  • Identify scope changes and escalate them to the Structural Lead as necessary.
