Job description

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Electrical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead technical excellence in their global data center portfolio. This role focuses on shaping the electrical infrastructure of mission-critical facilities while driving strategic growth and mentoring talent. The ideal candidate will possess deep domain expertise and a passion for innovation. This position allows for flexibility in location, as it can be aligned with any U.S. office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with a Master's preferred.
  • 20+ years of experience in electrical engineering, including 15+ years in mission-critical or data center environments.
  • Proven expertise in MV/LV distribution, UPS systems, generator sizing, fault coordination, and arc flash analysis.
  • Strong familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, and local electrical codes.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide internal technical leadership in electrical engineering across data center programs.
  • Set design strategy with clients and optimize electrical systems.
  • Champion innovation in power systems, energy efficiency, and resiliency.
  • Act as the external face of Jacobs' electrical expertise in client engagements and industry forums.
  • Mentor and coach engineers and designers within the electrical discipline.
