Job description

The AMS Design Engineer role at Apple focuses on transistor level IC design implementation for Apple Silicon across various technology nodes. The team emphasizes engineering excellence, creativity, and innovation while collaborating across different teams. Candidates will work on elite custom analog designs that connect Apple products to the physical world and optimize their performance. This position requires a self-motivated and passionate electrical engineer to contribute to the development of revolutionary products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong device physics knowledge as it applies to analog IC design.
  • Proven track record of delivering silicon IPs with complete architecture, design, verification, and validation experience.
  • Solid understanding and experience in bandgaps, bias, opamps, switched-cap circuits, LDOs, low power oscillators, PLLs, VGAs, feedback, and compensation techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge and analytical understanding of mixed-signal design techniques.
  • Experience in C/Matlab/VerilogA/Python modeling.

Responsibilities

  • Work on transistor level IC design implementation for Apple Silicon.
  • Collaborate with production test engineers to produce test plans and design for testability details.
  • Validate analog designs using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
  • Understand top level verification methods incorporating block level schematics and behavioral models.
  • Apply high precision techniques in the presence of device mismatch.
  • Understand data converter architectures and design trade-offs.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
