Job description

As a CPU Design Timing Engineer at Apple, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timing closure of projects. You will collaborate with the CAD team and CPU micro-architects to develop and refine timing flows. This position emphasizes innovation and efficiency in timing analysis and closure processes. Your contributions will directly impact the performance of Apple's cutting-edge hardware products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 3+ years of experience in timing analysis.
  • Experience with static timing analysis, noise analysis, and fixing noise in designs.
  • Proficiency in TCL and either Perl or Python.
  • Prior experience in high-speed digital designs such as CPUs.
  • Familiarity with static timing analysis tools such as PrimeTime® or Tempus®.
  • Knowledge of physical design tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the timing flow used on the project in collaboration with the CAD team.
  • Script to improve analysis flows and engineer efficiency.
  • Work extensively with CPU micro-architects and implementation engineers to drive timing closure.
  • Perform timing analysis and ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Analyze and represent data effectively for project needs.
