The Search and Knowledge Quality team is focused on enhancing user interactions with devices through advanced machine learning techniques. This Applied Machine Learning team is dedicated to improving query understanding, document ranking, and generating high-quality answers. In this role, you will take ownership of features within the Siri Search system and collaborate with experts across various teams. The position emphasizes innovation and the deployment of solutions at scale to impact Apple products positively.

• BSc or Masters degree in Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Security, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of industry-related experience in collaborative environments.
• Experience with programming skills in Python, C/C++, and GoLand.
• Experience with ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, HuggingFace, AXLearn, and Scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with integrating ML solutions into production systems and existing workflows at scale.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows and ML pipelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ph.D. in a related field is preferred.
• Experience with state-of-the-art ML methodologies, including LLM fine-tuning and neural network optimization.

• Leverage and advance state-of-the-art LLM and ML techniques to understand user queries and intent.
• Improve document ranking and generate high-quality answers.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features within the Siri Search system from ideation to production deployment.
