Job description
The Datacenter Systems Architecture team is looking for a skilled computer systems or technology architect to lead and influence new product designs. This role involves creating system architectures and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to establish product definitions and requirements. The architect will focus on delivering physical architecture solutions for datacenter platforms while ensuring performance, size, power, thermal, and cost goals are met. The position requires strong technical expertise in server design and the ability to mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Core competence and subject matter expertise in architecting servers for general purpose compute or specialty compute systems running datacenter workloads for AI/ML applications
- Strong technical breadth across several computer subsystem technologies, including CPU, GPU, TPU, storage, memory, power delivery, power management, networking, I/O, and thermal management
- Functional experience in defining physical architecture solutions for complex server system designs deployed in datacenter applications
- Understanding of schematics, PCB layout & designs, with experience in bring-up, system debug, and hands-on lab environments
- Strong analytic, verbal, written, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Provide physical architectural guidance and leadership to cross-functional engineering teams
- Lead the solutions for delivering physical architecture solutions for datacenter platforms
- Drive physical architecture investigations for product system integration options through collaboration with various stakeholders
- Author system architecture specifications and conduct reviews with product teams
- Analyze and support thermal management solutions and trade-offs
- Anticipate future SoC requirements and negotiate with internal teams
- Explore and champion new product-level features and workflows
- Mentor junior engineers to best practices and data-driven processes
