Job description
This is a System Engineering position focused on innovating iPhone and iPad products through collaboration with multi-functional teams. The role involves engaging with Hardware, Module, and Design & Validation teams at Apple. Candidates will evaluate system designs, support hardware development, and optimize test processes. The position requires hands-on experience with electronics and proficiency in coding and lab equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in prototype work and functional verification specifically with electronics
- Proficient with lab equipment such as digital multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data loggers
- Prior experience with coding and scripting skills in Python, Perl, Shell, or Unix
- Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred
- Prior working experience with prototype hardware and/or development boards is helpful
Responsibilities
- Evaluate overall system design by crafting and conducting evaluation tests
- Support Hardware teams in crafting the next-generation iPhones and iPads and build Failure Analysis reports
- Be responsible for the optimization of the test processes
- Make recommendations for coverage improvements
- Develop benchmarking matrix by crafting or modifying automation scripts for building and assembling performance graphs
- Work towards closing potential test gaps and build improvements to the scripts
- Support hardware development activities at manufacturing partner facilities
