Job description

The role is for an experienced Circuit Design & Analysis engineer within the AWS Utility Computing team, focusing on custom circuit design and analysis for machine learning hardware. The team develops advanced SOCs like Inferentia and Trainium to support AI workloads globally. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to enhance silicon yield and performance while defining best practices. This position emphasizes teamwork and innovation in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • BS + 8 years, MS + 6 years, or PhD + 3 years in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Expertise in circuit level analysis using tools like SPICE or SPECTRE.
  • Understanding of ASIC Physical Design from RTL to GDSII.
  • 3+ years of scripting experience with Tcl, Perl, or Python.
  • Experience in advanced nodes of 5nm or below.
  • Expertise with Thermal and IR analysis tools like Ansys Redhawk_SC-ET or Cadence Voltus & Celsius.
  • Experience with timing of IO interfaces like DDR, HBM, PCIe, and Die-to-Die.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement custom cells and IP.
  • Develop and run characterization flows for custom cells and IP.
  • Own integration and post-silicon qualification of IPs like PLL, PCIE, UCIE, and HBM.
  • Develop scripts to automate analysis and collect reports.
  • Create test plans and perform lab measurements to correlate with simulation data.
  • Collaborate with physical design engineers, product engineers, and hardware engineers.
