Job description

The role involves working as a Thermal/Mechanical Engineer within the AWS Hardware Engineering team, focusing on the design and development of server platforms. The team is dedicated to creating innovative cooling and mechanical technologies for large-scale server deployments. Candidates will collaborate with experts across various technology areas to enhance product performance and reliability. This position requires a hands-on approach and a commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and thermal systems.
  • Experience in systems integration of complex server products.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
  • Experience with the project management of technical projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and thermal design and development for complex electronic systems.
  • Design and validate systems and subsystems to meet program objectives.
  • Participate in the cross-discipline design process working with other HW and SW team members to develop optimized integrated solutions.
  • Conduct failure analysis and solution validation for product development and fleet systems.
  • Manage interaction with overseas resources.
  • Provide mentorship and technical reviews to a team of mechanical/thermal design engineers.
