Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Data Center Structural Engineer to join its design team in Herndon, Virginia. This role involves designing resilient and cost-effective data center facilities while ensuring high uptime for customers. The engineer will collaborate with a diverse team of architects, engineers, and designers to solve complex problems and innovate within the field. The position emphasizes security, safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness in the design of data centers.

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities such as data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities.
• 4+ years of commissioning experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
• Professional Engineer License.
• Experience with building codes and regulations for the region.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

• Design prototypical data center facilities and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Review milestone drawings by consultants and solve large scale implementation issues.
• Carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards for safety and security.
• Drive the development of a fleet of buildings that meet AWS’s growing demand.
