  • 3+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field
  • Direct, hands-on experience with developing and debugging complex embedded systems
  • 2+ years of experience contributing to design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • 2+ years of experience developing embedded C applications that use an RTOS and embedded Linux environments
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and testing

  • 4+ years of development experience within an embedded environment or with robotic systems
  • Experience with open-source Linux-based development tools and architectures
  • Embedded development of Machine Learning applications

Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded software for controlling complex mechatronic systems.
  • Work with multiple components including motor control, networking, and safety on modern real-time hardware.
  • Contribute to the architecture of complex systems and implement solutions with team members.
  • Develop solutions that balance performance and maintainability under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Test and debug low-level sensing and motor control firmware and integrate it into mid-level real-time software.
  • Analyze potential pitfalls of proposed approaches and implement new products and features.
  • Write automated tests to vet newly created features and conduct live testing to debug issues.

Benefits

  • Employees at Amazon are often offered comprehensive health benefits—including multiple medical plan options (no pre-existing condition exclusions, 100% covered in-network preventive care), dental and vision plans, a 24/7 medical advice line from day one, expert second-opinion services, and broad mental-health support with several free counseling sessions (including pediatric). Financial wellness typically includes a 401(k) with company match (up to 2%), Restricted Stock Units (equity), FSAs, an emergency savings program, product and partner discounts, and even college-savings and home-purchase programs. Overall, the package is designed to support employees and their families’ health, finances, and day-to-day life.
