JobsResearch Scientist, Quantum Error Correction, Quantum AI
Job description
As a Quantum Research Scientist at Google, you will focus on developing quantum error correction schemes for fault-tolerant quantum computing, particularly with superconducting qubits and high-connectivity platforms. Your work will involve creating and analyzing quantum error correction codes while addressing hardware challenges. You will also contribute to the research community by publishing your findings and collaborating with partner universities and technical institutes. This role is integral to advancing Google's mission in quantum computing and unlocking solutions to complex problems.
Requirements
- PhD degree in Quantum Computing domain, such as Math, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Research publication experience in quantum error correction.
- 1 year of experience owning and initiating research agendas.
Responsibilities
- Develop new quantum codes that achieve high encoding rates and favorable hardware layouts.
- Adapt error correction circuits to hardware constraints on connectivity.
- Analyze fault-tolerant circuits for syndrome measurement and logical operations.
- Simulate quantum codes under noise models and evaluate their performance.
Benefits
- Employees at Google are often offered benefits like comprehensive health insurance, 401(k) matching, and flexible work arrangements, among other benefits.
