The Hardware Validation Engineer will support new product engineering and development in Google's hardware R&D labs. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining system-level testbeds that facilitate product development. The engineer will work within a team that focuses on creating hardware and software technologies for Google's services. The position offers the opportunity to influence the design of systems that power Google's data centers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a specialized field.
- 2 years of experience in a hardware engineering technical environment, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
- Experience with Linux, networking, network troubleshooting, and failure diagnosis.
- Experience working with various computer systems including physical, functional, logical, mechanical, electrical, software, and thermal.
Responsibilities
- Help design and build system-level testbeds and maintain lab space, tools, and infrastructure.
- Work with teams to develop software and hardware systems and methodologies.
- Coordinate interactions between labs and engineering teams.
- Anticipate and resolve problems by applying knowledge and skills, escalating issues when necessary.
- Generate implementation plans and provide technical expertise during deployment activities.
