The Finance Analyst role at Goldman Sachs Asset Management involves contributing to the accounting function within the AWM Finance group. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
- Experience with month-end close ownership and financial statement preparation
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across departments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- CPA or active progress toward CPA strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead and own key components of the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and analyze financial statements, identifying trends, variances, and actionable insights.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring proper controls and accuracy.
- Prepare and review complex journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Review and approve employee expense reports for compliance and accuracy.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and detailed variance analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Partner with the VP of Finance on strategic initiatives, reporting enhancements, and process improvements.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
- Assist with audits and coordinate with external auditors as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support business decisions.
