Job description

The Data Engineer role within the Lakehouse and AI Data Platform team focuses on designing, building, testing, and supporting data pipelines and curated datasets. This position emphasizes the development of reliable, scalable, and high-performing data solutions that support analytics and AI use cases. Engineers in this role will work closely with platform teams and data consumers to ensure data products meet business needs. The role is ideal for those who are comfortable with coding and have a strong foundation in data engineering principles.

Requirements

  • 7-12+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong hands-on programming experience in Python or Java.
  • Good working knowledge of SQL, including troubleshooting and optimization.
  • Familiarity with software engineering fundamentals, including version control and CI/CD practices.
  • Experience working with distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
  • Knowledge of common data formats such as JSON, Avro, and Parquet.

Responsibilities

  • Build, enhance, and support batch and streaming data pipelines on the Lakehouse and AI data platform.
  • Refactor or modernize existing data flows to improve reliability and performance.
  • Develop raw, refined, and curated datasets that support analytics and AI use cases.
  • Implement controls to validate the completeness and accuracy of data across pipelines.
  • Work closely with engineers and data consumers to deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Contribute to shared tooling or framework components to improve platform functionality.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and design choices clearly to stakeholders.
