Job description

The Vice President role in Controllers Engineering at Goldman Sachs involves serving as a technical architect and organizational leader, driving initiatives to build critical software solutions for financial control and reporting. The team focuses on developing scalable, cloud-native architectures that support high-concurrency AI workloads and provide real-time access to critical deal information. Engineers will work in agile teams to create platforms that measure and monitor the firm's capital and liquidity metrics. This position offers the opportunity to engage with senior management and gain expertise in both technology and finance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • 8+ years of hands-on software development experience preferably in Java or Python
  • Proven experience architecting solutions on Cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
  • Experience with integrating LLMs into enterprise workflows and prompt engineering
  • Strong programming and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills including experience speaking to technical and business audiences globally
  • Interest in finance

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, cloud-native architectures on AWS and Snowflake that support high-concurrency AI workloads.
  • Develop high level and detailed technical designs, testing strategies, and implementation plans.
  • Manage end-to-end systems development from requirements analysis to coding, testing, UAT, implementation and maintenance.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners and identify opportunities for cross-divisional collaboration.
  • Provide technical and functional guidance and leadership to junior members on a need basis.
  • Build and maintain key financial metric calculation models and associated infrastructure.
  • Work closely with a wide range of stakeholders globally, including Controllers, Risk, Operations, and various business units.
