Job description

The role is focused on supporting the FICC Systematic Market Making (SMM) business by partnering with SMM Trading to develop and maintain pricing and execution services. The SMM Production Engineering team emphasizes site reliability engineering, automation, and real-time monitoring. Candidates will work in a fast-paced environment, addressing complex production issues and ensuring system performance. This position requires collaboration with trading and sales business users to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in Python, C, C++, Java, or shell scripting
  • Aptitude for algorithms, data structures, and software design
  • Experience with Linux operating system internals and/or networking concepts
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues during high-pressure situations
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical and operational risk for a multi-asset electronic trading business
  • Develop sustainable systems and services that meet uptime and performance requirements through automation
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings in support processes and physical environments
  • Collaborate with software and infrastructure owners to resolve hardware and network issues
  • Participate in incident and crisis management activities
  • Engage in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
  • Interact significantly with the FICC front office to support trading operations
