Rivian is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Integration Engineer to join the Platform Integration team. This role focuses on integrating advanced hardware and software components for autonomous driving systems across various vehicle platforms. The engineer will engage in hands-on technical debugging and large-scale vehicle data analysis while proactively resolving complex system-level issues. The position plays a critical role in ensuring the functionality, performance, and safety of Rivian's autonomous features.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, specifically Spark/Databricks SQL.
- Working knowledge of C++ for code review and debugging.
- Direct experience with automotive ECUs and diagnostic protocols such as UDS, CAN, and Ethernet.
- Experience with large-scale, cloud-based vehicle data and data warehousing platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and developing automated test cases.
- Proficiency with GIT and software repository management tools.
- Experience in developing dashboards and reporting metrics using visualization tools.
- Understanding of automotive hardware and software development concepts, including CI/CD.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and communication protocols.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally for vehicle integration and testing.
- Clean driving record with experience driving prototype test vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Integrate hardware and software components on various vehicle platforms.
- Develop and utilize in-vehicle and off-vehicle diagnostic tools.
- Identify and document cross-functional gaps and dependencies.
- Analyze vehicle log data and source code to resolve system-level issues.
- Support functional verification of ADAS-related software releases.
- Prototype tools and solutions for rapid development and efficiency.
- Review vehicle data to correlate performance with requirements.
- Enhance Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing capabilities.
- Drive continuous improvement in DTC reliability and definition.
- Ensure diagnostic readiness for vehicle platforms through regression testing.
- Identify gaps and implement engineering solutions or processes.
- Incorporate automation and leverage AI to improve efficiency.
