Job description
Arcadis is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to join their team in California, focusing on ensuring compliance with contract documents for construction projects. The role involves monitoring materials and methods, inspecting finished products, and managing project documentation. The Senior Resident Engineer will also be responsible for safety oversight and resolving disputes between clients and contractors. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential conflicts and recommending improvements.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of directly relevant experience, including Resident Engineer or related roles.
- At least 5 years working as a Resident Engineer on Caltrans Highway improvement projects of similar size and complexity.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field such as Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California is required.
- Experience as a Resident Engineer, Construction Manager, or Project Manager on a State Highway System project of at least $30 million.
Responsibilities
- Review the progress of work to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Monitor materials and methods used in construction and inspect finished products before acceptance.
- Ensure the safety of Construction Management employees and the traveling public by observing contractor operations.
- Provide directions to staff to maintain complete and accurate contract records.
- Review construction processes and engineering layouts.
- Attend and may lead construction meetings with clients and contractors.
- Exercise responsible decision-making regarding company funds and resources.
