Job description

The Sr. Staff Technical Program Manager at Rivian will lead critical Supply Chain Transformation initiatives, focusing on enhancing material flow operations. This role requires a strategic leader who can bridge various departments, including Logistics Engineering and Manufacturing, to ensure alignment with manufacturing goals. The position emphasizes an engineering-driven approach to solving complex logistical challenges while fostering a high-performing team culture. Located in Normal, IL, this role involves significant on-site presence and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Project Management, Supply Chain Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, or Logistics.
  • Extensive experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing, aerospace, or similarly complex industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply engineering methodologies such as Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale transformation projects with budgets over $10M.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or MBA is highly preferred.
  • Expertise in advanced project management tools and ERP/WMS systems, preferably SAP.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the overarching project management strategy for the Supply Chain Transformation.
  • Act as the primary bridge between Logistics Engineering, Material Flow Engineering, Procurement, and Production.
  • Apply first-principles engineering thinking to supply chain bottlenecks.
  • Proactively identify project risks and develop robust contingency plans.
  • Oversee capital and operational budgets for transformation projects.
  • Establish comprehensive KPIs and reporting dashboards for executive visibility.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of project managers and planners.
