The hardware design engineer at Rivian will be responsible for the electrical system design, bring-up, and validation for current and future electric vehicles. This role requires collaboration across various teams to influence design and address hardware/software integration challenges. The engineer will focus on designing antennas with optimal performance, cost, and quality. Additionally, the position involves testing and validating antenna performance to ensure the success of Rivian's wireless products.

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of measurement equipment for antenna and wireless characterization, such as VNA and SA.
• Familiarity with antenna simulation tools like HFSS, CST, FEKO, and XFDTD.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C and Python.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Design and test antennas for Rivian programs focusing on performance, cost, and quality.
• Analyze and document design trade-offs and create antenna designs.
• Conduct bench, chamber, and vehicle-level testing to characterize antenna performance.
• Process and document results to validate and compare the performance of different designs.
• Drive product delivery and validation schedules, releasing designs into product life management systems.
