Job description

As a Durability Data Analytics Engineer at Rivian, you will be part of a collaborative team focused on ensuring the durability of electric vehicles. Your role will involve analyzing real-world and simulated data to predict vehicle loads and stresses over time. You will develop machine learning models to enhance the understanding of vehicle performance and automate processes related to durability testing. This position is integral to Rivian's mission of creating adventurous yet durable vehicles for customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 1-3 years of experience in data analytics for automotive or related engineering applications.
  • Experience with Python (Pandas, Numpy), PySpark, Matlab, and SQL applied to big datasets.
  • Demonstrated expertise with various machine learning techniques applied to automotive use data, test data, or simulation data.
  • Experience in fatigue life estimation and statistical methods.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fleet data analyses mapping travel, driving, road infrastructure, and vehicle usage across the US and other markets.
  • Build classification models to identify usage archetypes and their correlations.
  • Develop and validate machine learning models to estimate vehicle loads and fatigue damage from vehicle data signals.
  • Standardize vibration spectra at different vehicle locations across vehicle variants and platforms.
  • Automate processes such as component block cycle development from real-world duty cycles.
