Rivian is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Data Ops to join their Autonomy organization within the Data team. This role focuses on providing expertise in cloud and data engineering, specifically within the AWS Cloud Data Platform. The engineer will collaborate with various teams, including ADAS Cloud, Data, and Vehicle integrations, to enhance data operations and infrastructure services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building and managing complex infrastructure in cloud environments.

• 5+ years of software engineering or in ML/Dev/Data Ops role.
• 5+ years of experience authoring, scaling, and managing production infrastructure.
• 5+ years of experience working with Kubernetes, AWS CI/CD tools, and AWS networking stack.
• 5+ years of experience with Infra as Code and configuration management tools like Terraform.
• 5+ years of experience with monitoring applications in cloud environments.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python, Go, or Java.
• 2+ years of experience with CI/CD and/or GitOps patterns.
• 2+ years of experience with microservice-oriented architectures.

• Lead, build, test, and release complex mission-critical infrastructure services for Rivian's ADAS team.
• Setup fault tolerant multi-region environments for data operations and applications.
• Own the CI/CD pipeline for applications and data projects.
• Define on-call strategy and participate in on-call rotations.
• Automate workflows to improve developer efficiency.
• Build and optimize highly reliable, scalable, and distributed infrastructure using microservice architecture.
• Collaborate with the security and privacy team to perform audits and mitigate findings.
• Work with cross-functional ADAS teams for development and integrations.
• Optimize costs in AWS across multiple accounts and services.
