Job description
Rivian is seeking an Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer to join their team focused on the rapidly growing electric vehicle market. This role involves providing EMC technical expertise for the design and verification of PCBAs and ECUs for various vehicle platforms. The engineer will assess electromagnetic interactions and provide guidance for integration and design validation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and a passion for innovative solutions in the automotive industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline with 5 years of work experience.
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline with 3 years of work experience.
- PhD degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline with 1 year of work experience.
- Good understanding of electrical circuit fundamentals including analog circuits, RLC tank circuits, transmission line theory, and switch mode power supplies.
- Good hands-on electronics debugging skills with the ability to work across organizations and teams.
- Experience with scripting languages for data analysis such as Matlab or Python.
Responsibilities
- Work with hardware designers to develop the next generation of control electronics for Rivian vehicles.
- Develop and validate electromagnetic models to predict circuit behavior when integrated into vehicles deployed in real-world environments.
- Test ECU and vehicle design margins in EMC laboratories.
- Develop systems engineering models for sub-system EMI Source/Victim interactions in vehicles.
- Contribute to electrical and mechanical integration and wiring harness design.
