Job description

As a Sr. Technical Program Manager in Vehicle Hardware Engineering at Rivian, you will manage the development and delivery of vehicle hardware subsystems from concept to market execution. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on program deliverables and visibility across teams. You will lead a matrix organization to drive issue resolution and manage key performance metrics. The ideal candidate will have a proactive attitude towards engineering challenges and a passion for the outdoors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in engineering or equivalent technical degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive product development, ideally with at least 1 vehicle launch.
  • Detailed knowledge of the automotive design and development process, system requirements, and general engineering best practices.
  • Outstanding communication skills for both detailed technical discussions and high-level executive audiences.
  • Excellent commercial and financial awareness.
  • Knowledge of materials, processes, and technologies used to deliver hardware engineering content.
  • Experience operating CAD systems, with a preference for CATIA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a matrix organization to ensure delivery of vehicle hardware engineering subsystems through the complete Rivian Development Process.
  • Champion and drive cross-functional issue resolution, change management, and large program changes.
  • Drive key external departments towards alignment on program execution direction.
  • Manage key performance metrics including issues and change management, quality, validation, and subsystem performance.
  • Own the creation of subsystem development timing plans including supplier sourcing and validation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of plans to ensure on-time delivery of parts.
  • Coordinate cross-functional issue resolution on-site at launch locations.
