Job description

The Sr. leader of the ME Conveyor Engineering team at Rivian will oversee a group of skilled engineers focused on developing innovative conveyor systems for electric vehicle manufacturing. This role emphasizes redefining manufacturing engineering standards and integrating advanced technologies into production lines. The team aims to ensure seamless operations with minimal downtime and high-quality outputs. Collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams is essential to troubleshoot and optimize conveyor-related processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business with equivalent industrial experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in automation engineering and tooling and equipment implementation and optimization
  • Strong technical knowledge in conveyance, AGVs, and automation
  • Proven knowledge of co-design with automation equipment suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences
  • Strong financial acumen with a proven track record of managing budgets and ensuring projects meet financial targets

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of conveyor and AGV engineers and specialists supporting all centers
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize conveyor and AGV operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution
  • Own and maintain a common set of ME Conveyor and AGV equipment and process specifications
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to address technical inquiries and resolve issues
  • Drive implementation of best practices through process optimization and new technologies
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support the application of digital design tools to minimize rework and enable full equipment simulation
  • Apply cost engineering principles to analyze and optimize project costs
