Job description

The internship role at Rivian focuses on working with the SoC validation team to refine and execute validation plans for next-generation hardware designs. Interns will utilize C/C++ software and FPGA technology to validate SoC internal functional blocks and peripheral interfaces. This position is ideal for students who are passionate about technology and the outdoors, and who wish to contribute to innovative solutions in the automotive industry. The internship is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited program, specifically at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.

Requirements

  • Must be currently pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or PhD degree at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign.
  • Actively pursuing a degree in Electrical or Computer Science Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Proficient in C/C++ and a scripting language such as Python or Linux shell.
  • Good knowledge in FPGA design and Verilog languages.
  • Strong analytical skills and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with courses or projects focusing on platform or embedded software development.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the SoC validation team to refine and execute the SoC validation plan.
  • Use C/C++ software and FPGA technology to validate SoC for the next generation hardware design.
  • Generate test coverage reports to assess validation progress.
  • Build benchmark tools to evaluate the performance of the hardware system.
  • Document validation progress and results in Rivian’s tracking system.
