The Sr. Software Engineer on the Pose team at Rivian will focus on developing mapping, localization, and calibration solutions for autonomous vehicles. This role involves working with a diverse group of algorithm developers and software engineers to enhance the autonomy stack. The team is responsible for integrating algorithms into the vehicle architecture and ensuring high-quality, scalable software. Candidates should have a strong background in robotics and real-time systems, with a passion for outdoor adventures and sustainability.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
- 7+ years of robotics, AV (Autonomous Vehicle), or other real-time, safety-critical experience.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills and experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
- Good team player with great communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Define, review, and refactor the architecture, algorithms, and frameworks for solving pose, calibration, and SLAM problems.
- Implement algorithms and frameworks in C++ and mentor junior engineers.
- Integrate algorithms into the autonomous vehicle architecture and migrate them to real-time embedded systems.
- Help define and develop pipelines to evaluate and iterate on algorithms at scale.
- Interface directly with suppliers and collaborate with software, hardware, and vehicle design teams.
