Job description

In this role at Rivian, you will support the durability verification and validation team by conducting multi-axis road simulation rig vehicle testing and collecting road load data. You will work closely with various teams, including chassis and dynamics, to ensure test setups are accurate and identify improvement opportunities. Your expertise in program management and data analysis will be crucial for success in this position. This role directly contributes to Rivian's mission of creating structurally durable electric vehicles for customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, materials engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in road simulation 329 rig vehicle testing and drive file development.
  • Experience with MTS RPC Pro or MTS Connect software.
  • 1+ years of durability data collection experience.
  • Understanding of accelerated fatigue testing.
  • Experience with nCode or similar analysis programs for loads and fatigue life calculations is highly preferred.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or other programming languages is a plus.
  • Proven track record of problem-solving and independent root cause analysis.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and manage competing priorities.

  • Ability to travel locally to testing suppliers and the proving grounds.
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License within a 3-5 year period.
  • No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years.
  • No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years.
  • Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence.

Responsibilities

  • Execute durability testing and data collection.
  • Set up and operate 329 vehicle rig testing.
  • Prepare test reports and presentations.
  • Manage multiple testing and data collection projects.
  • Support CAE correlation.
