Job description
The Sr. Battery Systems Engineer at Rivian will focus on high voltage battery pack systems engineering, ensuring compliance with international regulations and managing requirements for outsourced programs. This role involves leading the design process, coordinating with various teams, and maintaining documentation for validation and audit readiness. The engineer will also work closely with thermal systems and modeling teams to ensure alignment with design requirements. The position is integral to supporting Rivian's mission of creating emissions-free electric adventure vehicles.
Requirements
- 5+ years of work experience in Battery and/or Automotive industries.
- At least a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of High Voltage Safety and international battery regulations.
- Experience launching a high voltage battery pack is preferred.
- Holistic understanding of thermal and electrical interdependence in battery pack design.
- Proficiency with automated requirements management tools and issue tracking tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead the HV Battery Pack Systems Engineering process.
- Translate international regulations into actionable battery pack requirements.
- Establish Requirements Verification Traceability to ensure compliance.
- Act as the single point of ownership for outsourced battery pack program requirements.
- Own the maintenance and decomposition of thermal system requirements.
- Ensure all technical documentation is maintained and accessible.
