Job description
The role focuses on leading the design and development of high-voltage battery and battery management system (BMS) electrical architecture at Rivian. The team is dedicated to creating innovative solutions for electric adventure vehicles while ensuring safety and performance. Candidates will work closely with various engineering teams to optimize battery systems and address complex challenges. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and collaboration across multiple disciplines.
Requirements
- 7+ years of work experience in Battery, Automotive, Aerospace, or related industries.
- At least a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong fundamentals in analog and mixed-signal design as applied to high-voltage batteries.
- Working knowledge of BMS architectures and communication paths between components.
- Practical experience with schematic capture and PCB design.
Responsibilities
- Own key parts of the high-voltage battery and BMS electrical architecture.
- Lead design and development of the HV Battery and BMS electrical architecture across prototype and production-intent packs.
- Analyze and optimize HV bus behavior to control ripple and manage EMI/EMC.
- Work with controls engineers to ensure the battery pack has the right signals and safety strategies.
- Plan and execute evaluations of HV Battery/BMS electrical roadmap items on prototype hardware.
