Job description

Arcadis is seeking a Civil/Construction Engineering Intern to support environmental remediation and demolition projects in Rochester, NY. This role involves significant fieldwork, with the intern spending 90% to 100% of their time on-site. The intern will work within the Resilience Environment team, focusing on protecting natural resources while contributing to various construction projects. Requirements

  • Pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related science discipline.
  • 1 year of experience with field engineering, construction management, and construction oversight is preferred.
  • 40-hr HAZWOPER certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing day-to-day activities on large construction and remediation projects.
  • Engage in project planning and costing.
  • Communicate and interact with clients professionally.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly field reports.
  • Track field costs and material volumes.
  • Manage and update construction schedules.
  • Determine and communicate staffing needs.
  • Work with and direct subcontractors and other contractors.
  • Promote and track safety performance.
  • Conduct tailgate safety meetings.
