Job description
The Senior Power Generation Engineer will serve as a Subject Matter Expert within the Power Generation Solutions team at AWS, focusing on the evaluation and development of power designs for data centers. This role involves leading the development of innovative power generation configurations and ensuring compliance with safety, availability, and sustainability standards. The team is dedicated to advancing AWS's mission of delivering world-class cloud services while maintaining high infrastructure uptime and minimizing costs. Candidates should be passionate about solving complex problems and collaborating with diverse teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- 6+ years of experience with leading power infrastructure designs in complex mission critical facilities
- In-depth knowledge of continuous operating redundant electrical systems and power infrastructure
- Experience and knowledge of power generation equipment, systems, and controls
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, single and three-line diagrams, and mechanical and electrical drawing packages
Responsibilities
- Develop designs and analysis of different power generation sources to serve data center loads
- Support the development of power generation configurations for different applications
- Understand the design and functionality of the global data center fleet
- Interpret, evaluate, and develop engineering drawings and performance data
- Provide feedback to Design Engineering teams for design revisions and operational upgrades
