Job description

As a Pixel IP DMA Design Engineer in the Hardware Technologies group, you will play a crucial role in designing high-performance, power-efficient system-on-chips (SoCs). Your work will focus on developing DMA engines that facilitate the movement of large data sets between memory systems and the Pixel IP Engine. This position requires collaboration with architecture, design, and verification teams to ensure the functionality and performance of the designs. You will contribute to creating technology that enhances the user experience for millions of Apple customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 0 years of experience in multimedia IP/SoC front-end ASIC RTL design.
  • Strong collaboration skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Experience working with architecture, design, and verification teams to specify, design, and debug designs.
  • Previous experience designing dedicated DMA engines related to machine learning applications, data storage, memory controllers, networking, image processing, or interconnects.
  • Good understanding of arbitration, address translation, caching, on-chip interconnects, and performance analysis.
  • Familiarity with common on-chip bus protocols such as AMBA (AXI, AHB, APB).
  • Experience in front-end implementation tasks such as synthesis, area and power analysis, linting, and logic equivalence checks.

Responsibilities

  • Explore solutions to enhance performance while minimizing power and area.
  • Detail specifications and build RTL designs.
  • Work with design verification and formal verification teams to verify functionality and performance.
