Job description

The CO+I Critical Environment Electrical Engineer at Microsoft plays a vital role in managing the electrical infrastructure of large-scale datacenters that support Microsoft's cloud services. This position involves working with a team of experts to ensure the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems across multiple facilities. The role emphasizes environmental sustainability and safety while empowering a culture of collaboration and innovation. The engineer will also engage with various stakeholders to enhance operational performance and customer experiences.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain one within 2 years is preferred.
  • 3 years’ experience with design, construction, operation or maintenance of large scale and complex electrical engineering systems.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical expert for on-site operations related to a large-scale mission critical electrical system.
  • Manage the electrical infrastructures throughout the datacenter campus.
  • Work with commissioning teams to test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.
  • Establish and coordinate maintenance and safety procedures for electrical designs.
  • Support 24x7x365 on-site datacenter operations and electrical infrastructure.
  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of data center activities.
  • Exhibit good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills at varying levels of business.
