Job description

The Critical Environment Mechanical Engineer at Microsoft plays a vital role in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for various online services. Requirements

  • Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, or related field OR Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related technical engineering experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related technical engineering experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide make-versus-buy recommendations to management based on complexity, financial impact, quality, reliability, and time duration.
  • Create robust, scalable, secure, and extensible designs and verification plans for hardware engineering aspects of complex products.
  • Develop and implement solutions to complex technical and design challenges.
  • Review documentation to ensure appropriate test requirements and improvements are included in hardware designs.
  • Generate project implementation schedules and monitor performance against schedules.
