Join Rivian's Vehicle Hardware Engineering team as a Senior Mechanical Design & Release Engineer, focusing on the development of chassis steering hardware components for electric adventure vehicles. You will be instrumental in driving projects from concept through production release, ensuring a confident driving experience. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
- Preferred 5+ years of experience in chassis steering hardware development at a steering supplier or OEM.
- Proven ability to break down complex problems using data and engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with engineering tools such as CAD (CATIA V6 3DX) and CAE FEA software.
- Demonstrable understanding of steering system validation testing at both component and vehicle levels.
Responsibilities
- Own clean-sheet engineering design of steering mechatronic and hardware systems.
- Manage engineering deliverables including DFMEA and design validation plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to co-develop robust engineering solutions.
- Evaluate steering component designs and define validation procedures.
- Create and develop engineering specification packages to communicate design intent.
- Execute CAD 2D and 3D engineering releases within the CATIA 3DX environment.
- Build and nurture collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Balance multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
