Job description

AMD is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) Silicon Design Engineer to contribute to the research, design, development, and testing of electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role emphasizes collaboration within cross-functional teams to address complex issues in ASIC development. Candidates will leverage their expertise in electronic theory and engineering principles to drive significant technical projects. Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • Four years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent and six years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
  • Experience in semiconductor design/technology interactions.
  • Proficiency in SoC emulation and model development with computer organization/architecture.
  • Knowledge of SoC power management and power/performance attainment.
  • Experience in hardware verification and RTL design/coding.
  • Familiarity with Verilog/VHDL and functional verification of microprocessors.
  • Experience in ASIC design and design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.
  • Understanding of product development lifecycles.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Lead definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
  • Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
  • Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop ASIC/layout design.
  • Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance.
  • Exercise independent judgment to select methods and techniques for obtaining results.
  • Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics to contribute to company objectives.
