Job description

The SMTS Silicon Design Engineer at Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, is responsible for researching, designing, developing, and testing electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. This role involves leading ASIC development, determining architecture design, and evaluating process flows. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to address significant technical challenges and drive projects of importance. The position requires a strong foundation in electronic theory and engineering principles.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • Four years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in the relevant field and six years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
  • Four years of experience in Scan Insertion, LBIST, MBIST, ATPG verification, ASIC Design, and Unix or Linux platforms.
  • One year of experience in Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL, STA timing, Perl, Python, or Ruby, and DFT architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Lead definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
  • Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
  • Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop ASIC/layout design and address significant technical issues.
  • Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance with independent judgment.
