AMD is seeking an SMTS Software Development Engineer to focus on researching, designing, developing, and testing operating systems-level software and compilers for semiconductor operations. The role emphasizes collaboration with internal GPU library teams to optimize AI models on AMD GPUs. Candidates will work in a distributed computing environment, addressing both scale-up and scale-out challenges. Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Four years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in the same fields with six years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience is acceptable.
- Experience in software verification, Unix or Linux environments, server systems, machine learning, code optimization using GPU, software debugging, Git, and GNU toolchain.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software and compilers.
- Troubleshoot and debug software programs for enhancements and new products.
- Understand and define software requirements and architectures.
- Develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure, and technology platforms.
- Enable and optimize key AI models on AMD GPUs.
- Collaborate with internal GPU library teams to analyze and optimize training and inference for AI.
- Drive software and systems solutions including development and product definitions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop systems-level software addressing significant technical issues.
