The MTS Silicon Design Engineer at AMD's subsidiary Xilinx, Inc. focuses on researching, designing, developing, and testing electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. This role emphasizes collaboration with architecture and hardware teams to meet project requirements and involves leading the development of complex integrated circuits. Requirements
- Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Three years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in the same fields with five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience is acceptable.
- Experience using Verilog, VHDL, or SystemVerilog to design, model, and simulate digital systems and integrated circuits.
- Experience performing hardware verification through tests and simulations.
- Proficiency in programming in C or C++ for writing test and build verification environments.
- Experience with shell scripting for automating tasks in the electronic design automation flow.
- Knowledge of Functional and Code Coverage metrics for design quality assessment.
- Experience with AMBA protocol verification.
- Familiarity with CAD tools for design creation and verification tasks.
- Experience utilizing UVM for creating verification environments for digital integrated circuits.
- Proficiency in Unix or Linux for task automation and managing design flows.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
- Oversee definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
- Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
- Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
- Collaborate with architecture and hardware teams to understand project requirements.
- Lead the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits.
- Design and implement logic functions for efficient testing and debugging.
- Work with cross-functional teams on complex issues requiring in-depth analysis.
- Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance.
- Exercise independent judgment in selecting methods and evaluation criteria for results.
- Apply engineering principles and best practices to the design, development, and testing of products.
