Job description

AMD is seeking a Sr. Silicon Design Engineer to contribute to the design and development of electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves utilizing knowledge of electronic theory and engineering principles to optimize performance in various AMD products. The engineer will work on ASIC development, including architecture design, logic design, and system simulation. This position emphasizes collaboration and innovation within a diverse team to tackle complex challenges in next-generation computing.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in logic and circuit design.
  • Proficiency in CMOS transistor design and RTL design for integrated circuits.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools and Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as TCL, Perl, Ruby, or Python.
  • Knowledge of CPU architecture, GPU architecture, or SoC architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Perform definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
  • Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs for complex integrated circuits.
  • Evaluate process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Develop and execute characterization test plans for Datacenter GPUs.
  • Participate in the development of automation environments and scripts for workload automation.
  • Develop and execute performance validation test plans for HPC/ML frameworks.
